De Bortoli 10 Year Old Black Noble 500mL

Description

Black Noble is made using the "noble rot" method, where the grapes are intentionally affected by the Botrytis cinerea fungus, which concentrates their sugars and flavors. This fungus imparts unique characteristics to the wine, resulting in a rich and complex flavor profile. As a fortified wine, Black Noble undergoes a process where grape spirit (brandy) is added during fermentation to increase its alcohol content and preserve its sweetness. The wine is then aged for a minimum of 10 years in oak barrels, allowing it to develop a deep, dark color and complex flavors. Black Noble offers a luscious and concentrated taste experience, with notes of dried fruits, caramel, toffee, honey, and spices. It has a smooth and velvety texture, balanced by a pleasant level of acidity. The extended aging process contributes to its depth and complexity, making it a sophisticated and enjoyable dessert wine. This particular expression, the 10 Year Old Black Noble, signifies that the wine has been aged for a minimum of 10 years, further enhancing its richness and maturity. It is often savored on its own as a dessert wine or paired with rich desserts like chocolate, caramel-based desserts, or blue cheese.
